Hey everybody! So here I am at the MTC and I love it! It's been absolutely amazing. The Spirit is so strong all of the time. I feel like I don't have time to study everything that I want to. I'm not going to lie, I like the whole study the scriptures for hours at a time thing. My companion is Hermana Cozzens from North Carolina. She is going to Paraguay on her mission. We are perfect for each other. We are always on the same page with basically everything. It's absolutely great. We taught our first lesson in English yesterday. It went alright, but we still have a long time to go. Of course, what do I expect, I've only been here for a week. I've learned how to pray and
testify in Spanish. It's really amazing. I pray so often that I've almost got the prayer thing down, unless I want to pray for something I don't know the word for... then I have to stop and look it up. I'm pretty sure that God understand though. I know that I'm doing the right thing here. It astounds me that people could think that giving yourself up to God isn't for them. Every day I think about the sacrifices that I've made to be here and they seem so small and unimportant compared to inviting people to Christ. Sure, it's hard when you have to go around and testify to random people in Spanish about what I know to be true, but I know that God has blessed me. I have really been blessed with the Gift of Tongues and so has Hermana Cozzens. My district is pretty great. We only have three companionships. Elders Wallace and Hendrickson are going to be going to Quito with me and Elders Rood and Te'o are headed to Toronto, Spanish speaking. They are all funny Elders and I'm glad that we all get along. Elder Wallace tells hilarious stories about his childhood to us whenever we...uh...get off track. I also have great teachers. Brother Mortimer is fun and very outgoing and Brother Taylor is very talented at inviting the spirit into our classroom. Hermama Cozzens and I did a short mini-lesson the other day with Brother Taylor and I got to testify of Christ's Atonement and how repentence and forgiveness takes away our sins forever. I had never felt the Spirit testify to someone like that through me before. It made me super pumped to do that everyday for the people of Ecuador. I have a pretty funny story to tell. So Hermana Cozzens and I were contacting in Spanish yesterday, and one of the part that we were saying was that we were missionaries from "La Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Ulitimos Dias." Well, when I was saying this to some Elders that were going to teh Philippines, I accidentally said that we were "La Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Estados Unidos." Which means we're missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of the United States. Thank goodness they were already members and that they don't understand Spanish! That would have taken a lot of talking to explain what the heck I really meant.
Hmm....I have seven more minutes....Oh! So sister Janice Kapp Perry came and spoke to us on Sunday for Relief Society. It was super awesome. She had all of us sing a medley of Primary songs together. The spirit was awesome! Plus, it's inspired me to get a Spanish Children's Songbook so as to sing to the children in Ecuador. I wish that everyone coudl have this experience. I know that the Gospel is true and that missionary work is the most important thing that anyone can do in their life. Share the Gospel with someone! Let them know that God loves them and that they are a child of God! It's the best news you can share with your neighbor. Well, better depart! I love you all my dearm familia and you're in my prayers! Love, Hermana Cooper
