the top ten things i learned in ghana - 9

working with people from all around the world is like going to an international buffet

Elegance at it's finest.  Walk in to a high-ceilinged edifice.  A golden glow on each of the tables.  Tall columns covered in vines of ivy and pretty little flowers.  Some weird live music going on in the background.  It's great.

A giant buffet with food from every country.  Well.  Just India, Brazil, Ghana, England, Australia, and the good ol' USA (pronounced oo-sa).

That's what Ghana was.  There were people from all of those countries.  There were times when a Brazilian was trying to talk to the Australian, being translated by a Ghanian who spoke little English and more Ewe.  But some how the point still got across just fine...

Once more I found myself contemplating as I do about the gospel (and other such awesome things).

We all have the same longings.  We all want to be loved and feel appreciated.  We all want something to live (or die) for.  We all want to belong and feel secure.  Everyone wants peace and stability.

I feel like the buffet of culture is just a manifestation of people's endeavor of finding purpose.

No matter what the food is, we all eat it the same way:  put it in the same hole in our faces, which goes down the same tubes to the same kind of stomach which digests it in the same kinds of sloshy movements to bring about the same end of nutrition-izing our bodies.

Everybody is really just the same.
