the top ten things i learned in ghana - 7

i don't need to hold back to glorify my Father which is in heaven

Yes, I know, you can call me sheltered, but I'd never (before going to Ghana) attended a church that wasn't a Mormon one.

I'm not going to lie, I've kind of always been jealous of those hallelujah melodists.  I do, however, take the initiative daily to rock my life with some cool christian choruses (mostly loaded with Relient K).  They are so expressive about the way that they worship.

While in Sogakope,  there wasn't a Mormon church close to where we were staying, so we hit up the Pentecostal church with our buddy Alex.  The pastor taught from Matthew 5:16.

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

In layman's terms: be awesome and everyone will, by default, realize that He is also awesome.

The leaders then invited all the visiters to come up to the front and introduce themselves.  They also asked us to sing a song, so on the fly me and the chicas I was with sang I Am a Child of God, the classic from Mormon primary.  As we were singing, the pianist on the keyboard made up an embellishment to complement our simple tones.

Complete with dancing and praising, the service was a transcendental experience.

They all were so thankful for Jesus.

Perhaps my worship should also be so full of gratitude for grace.
